Time to upgrade 10GBASE-T to 25G BASE-T!
FIT 25G BASE-T RJ45 shows up in DesignCon
Teaming up with Alpha Networks Inc. for the world’s first 48 port 25G BASE-T Ethernet Switch
Taiwan – 2021/08/16 – Foxconn Interconnect Technology (6088.HK) (“FIT”)will jointly exhibit the 25G BASE-T RJ45 connector with Alpha Networks Inc.’s 48-port 25G BASE-T Ethernet switch in the DesignCon which is held on 2021/08/16 to 2021/08/18 in San José McEnery Convention Center, USA. This is the world’s first 25G BASE-T switch solution supporting regular twisted pair LAN cables. In response to the trend of 5G, Big Data, Cloud Computing, AI, V2X, Autonomous Driving, IoT, this 25G Base-T switch solution provides customers a more economical and valuable choice with for the future 10G BASE-T upgrades and edge computing deployment. FIT is honored to be the premier solution provider with the first 25G BASE-T Ethernet Switch in the world, meanwhile, it is also the first time for FIT to demonstrate its execution of 5G AIoT strategy. At DesignCon, FIT will also showcase products which supports 5G interconnection solution such as 400G & 800G QSFP-DD, PCIe5, DDR5, high speed cable, and more.
The time to upgrade from 10G BASE-T to 25G BASE-T is now approaching! FIT takes pride in the fact that our 25G Integrated RJ45 had launched in November 2020 that follows IEEE 802.3bq specification and is backward compatible to the 10G footprint layout, which reduces the additional cost in upgrading. In the data center and enterprise communication infrastructure, about 100 million 10G BASE-T RJ45 ports have been deployed and key OEMs are shipping about 15 million ports yearly. In addition, IEEE 802.3bq has defined 25G BASE-T/40G BASE-T physical layer and management parameters. As a result, 25G BASE-T can handle faster transfer speed through twisted pair LAN cable cables and this has great possibilities in various applications in the future.
"FIT continues to deploy based on our 5G AIoT strategic layout. Participation in the IEEE 802.3bq specification development for years, launching the development of 25G Base-T RJ45 in 2020, and providing optimal interconnect solutions for customers who need upgrades, all are the executions of our 5G AIoT strategy. FIT expects long-term cooperation with switch and server manufacturers in the industry to contribute to a better interconnected environment and create a win-win situation." said Mr. Joseph Wang, CTO of FIT Hon Teng.
Application of 25G RJ45:
•Data center ToR/MoR Switch & Server
•Enterprise Internet Access/Aggregation Switch & Server
Benefits of 25G RJ45:
•Supports low cost LAN cable and RJ45 connector to transfer 25Gbps
•Cost effective solution compared to DAC/AOC & SFP connectors
•Supports Cat7A/Cat8 up to 30 meters and Cat6A up to 10 meters @ 25G speed
•PCB footprint is backward compatible to 10GBASE-T for a seamless upgrade
